Young people under 25 years of age have been one of the most affected groups as a result of the COVID-19 crisis. According to INEI, during 2020, 24% of young people ceased to be part of the economically active population. In addition, a total of 124,300 young people lost their formal jobs.
Taking into account these data and the situation of COVID – 19, the Pachacútec Foundation, a non-profit organization that works with young people with limited economic resources through comprehensive education, launches the digital collection called “Change a life”, whose purpose is to raise funds to continue providing quality education and training and opportunities to improve your quality of life.
“For us, every day is a challenge that we face with great commitment because we know that there are people who do not have the opportunities to study in a good school, an institute or a university. It is because of them that we make this collection with the conviction of being able to join forces together, give a path of hope, personal and professional growth, ”says María Teresa Bomboí, vice president of the Pachacútec Foundation.
As is known, the Foundation is currently located in the Ventanilla district serving a population of approximately 250,000 people, where they have managed to create a : Initial, Primary and Secondary School, Cetpro: where they dictate the specialties of Restaurant and Bar Waiters, Call Center Operators, Personal Aesthetics, Bartenders and Home Gas Installations and an Institute , where the careers of: Business Administration, Kitchen and Industrial Electrical Engineering are taught. All this with the support of private companies.
“As a Foundation we need to work in a coordinated way with the private sector and the ordinary citizen to continue promoting initiatives that can improve and positively impact the lives of thousands of children, youth and families. This 2021, we are seeking to make strategic alliances with new companies in the sector for quality education. Any help is welcome ”, adds the vice president of Fundación Pachacútec.
With this campaign, it is expected to reach S / 230,000 to benefit 60 new young people greatly affected by the pandemic, of all educational levels for a year, expand the infrastructure created to teach classes and improve basic services such as electricity, water and drain.
